How it Works

Before your dog can begin physiotherapy, veterinary consent will need to be gained. This is a standard requirement and ensures your pet receives the safest and most appropriate care. You can download the referral form here, ask your vet to complete it, and return it to me before the appointment.

You’re welcome to book an initial consultation at any time, even before consent has been arranged, but for the appointment to go ahead, I must have received the signed form in advance. At your first session, I’ll spend time getting to know your dog, their medical history, lifestyle, and the challenges they’re facing. Every appointment begins with a detailed assessment, including observation, gait analysis, and a hands-on examination to check joints, muscles, and neurological function.

From there, I create an individualised treatment plan tailored specifically to your dog. No two dogs (even with the same condition) will need exactly the same approach. The first session is a chance not just to assess, but also to begin treatment and give you practical advice to use straight away at home. This thorough and holistic process ensures your dog’s care is safe, effective, and built entirely around their unique needs.

Vet Physiotherapy Treatments

Every treatment plan is designed around your dog’s specific needs, whether that’s recovery after surgery, managing arthritis, or regaining strength and mobility. No two dogs are ever the same, so each programme is carefully tailored to their condition, personality, and lifestyle. Techniques may include soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations, passive stretches, myofascial release, and personalised exercise programmes to restore strength, balance, and flexibility. I also use therapeutic tools such as laser therapy, electrical muscle stimulation, and thermal therapies (heat or ice) to support healing, reduce pain, and improve overall wellbeing.

Physiotherapy doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic; I’ll give you practical advice, simple exercises, and guidance on small changes you can make at home to make life easier and more comfortable for your dog. Owners often find this empowering, as it means you play an active role in your dog’s recovery and progress between sessions. With the right plan and consistency, many dogs gain improved comfort, mobility, and energy, helping them get back to enjoying their walks, playtime, and the everyday activities they love most.

Book an Appointment

I don’t offer online booking, as it’s important that we have the chance to speak first. Every dog and every situation is unique, and I want to make sure your pet receives the safest and most appropriate care. Speaking directly allows me to answer your questions, discuss your dog’s needs, and guide you through the veterinary referral process before we arrange an appointment.

All physiotherapy sessions take place on Fridays at Westover Vets in North Walsham.

If your dog is registered with Westover Vets, you can book directly through their reception team or email me if you prefer.

If your dog is registered with another veterinary practice, please email me directly to arrange your appointment. I can see dogs from any veterinary practice.

Before your dog can begin physiotherapy, veterinary consent is required. This ensures your pet receives safe and appropriate care. You can download the referral form, ask your vet to complete it, and return it to me before your appointment.

You’re welcome to arrange an initial consultation at any time, even before consent has been arranged, but I must receive the signed form before the session can go ahead.

To book, please email me with the following details:

  • Your name and contact number

  • Your dog’s name, age, and breed

  • A brief description of their condition or reason for physiotherapy

  • Your vet’s name and practice

  • Confirmation that your vet has (or will) complete the referral form

I’ll then get in touch to discuss your dog’s needs and confirm your appointment at Westover Vets.
